So, I'm revising the YA fantasy for an editor who is lovely, and bright, and cool, and I've only just started revising, which means that someone has come back to haunt me.
Baby, I told you to get to work.
But did I listen? No! Of course not.
Instead, I checked email and found out that Kelly Bingham, Class of 2k7 member and Vermont College alum, has a book nominated on the ALA's Best Book list.
Go YA author! Go!
So, why are you lollygagging around on the Internet, kid? Why aren't you revising?
Um, deciding to ignore Mr. Wayne a little more, right now.
What did she say?
Anyway, I checked out the list and then in my procrastination frenzy I checked out the YALSA quick pick list for reluctant readers and TIPS ON HAVING A GAY (EX) BOYFRIEND was there!
!!
I stood up. I stared at my computer.
I reverted into some 1980s valley girl and said, "Shut up. Ohmigod, shut up."
This is totally ultimately awesome to the max!
I am so ashamed.
But how cool is that? I never ever imagined TIPS would make a nomination list. And it did! It made an ultra cool list. If it was nominated on the Best Books list I think I'd have to pass out because the inner squee-er in me could not handle it.
Okay. Okay. I will be calm now. I will go revise.
See what a little hard work and a whole lot of luck can do, partner?
Stop smiling at me, John! I'm disconnecting from the web right now. I swear!

Can't wait to hear about more awards! Rock on!
So, I'll give you a John Wayne quote: "Sorry don't get it done, Dude."
-- John Wayne as John T. Chance in Rio Bravo
I had a friend in college who only dated gay men (well, that's what we used to tease her about) -- it never failed, she'd date them, and before they found another girl, they'd come out. Nice guys, all of them (which is why she liked them, of course), but she had no sense of that, I don't think:) Just had to share, he-he.
Congrats.
janet
It was so great meeting you.
xo
Although, I would be pretty cool in a Wonder Woman cape.
Not the rest of the outfit though.
Oh, I've made myself shudder.
A most excellent thing-- and I'm not a bit surprised!!
(John Wayne, stop looking at me like that!)
Here's a little celebratory dance at the John Wayne airport!

Thanks for making me laugh a little too hard today, Mr. Neri.
Of course it made "a list" Carrie! It was wonderful ... .
